Transplant stories
Elana Evans - Liver Recipient
Liver Recipient, 4/9/1988
"I had a liver transplant due to a genetic disease called Alpha 1 Anti-trypsin. I am forever grateful to my donor and donor family, although I do not know who they are. My two letters have gone unanswered. I have a Bachelor's of Business Administration Degree and am currently working as a patient services assistant and am the team leader of the support services staff at the local clinic."
Advocacy & Government Relations
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) helps to shape public policy on behalf of kidney disease patients. Together with our local Divisions and Affiliates, we work with Congress and federal agencies, as well as with state governments to further legislation and regulation that improve the care and quality of life of kidney disease patients.
