Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green pepper
  • 6 oz. no-salt tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 quart water

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef.
  2. Drain fat.
  3. Add onion and green pepper.
  4. Cook until onion is transparent.
  5. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1 ½ hours.
  6. Before serving, measure chili and add additional water to make 5 cups.
  7. Heat through.
