The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation*, an accredited provider by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and an accredited provider by the Association for Social Work Boards (ASWB) to provide continuing education to physicians, nurses/dialysis technicians, dietitians and social workers respectively. In addition, individual activities are approved on an activity specific basis for family physicians, advanced practitioners (nurse practitioners and physician assistants), pharmacists, certified case managers, certified rehabilitation counselors, and other specialties.

Engaging patients in the health and lifestyle changes only they can make so they feel well can be a challenge for many.  The goal of this session is to discuss why patients may behave as they do and learn practical tips and suggestions to encourage collaboration with the patients and help them to improve their own health outcomes.
