About this event
EVENT UPDATE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19):
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the need to take appropriate precautions to protect those most at risk. Your health and safety are our priority.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), older adults and people with kidney disease or other chronic conditions are at greater risk of experiencing serious Coronavirus illness. It is especially important for patients to take preventive measures aimed at reducing the likelihood of exposure. This includes avoiding crowds and public spaces.
In light of this, our Boston NKF Honors Event which was scheduled for March 21, 2020 has been postponed and rescheduled as a virtual event. We are excited about this new format this year as it will allow us to reach many more people. We are disappointed that we can’t celebrate our wonderful and deserving honorees live, but this new format will allow us to protect attendees health and safety. We hope many will join us in this virtual celebration. We plan to have the virtual event live for one week in August with inspirational messages from our honorees, a wonderful story about a living kidney donor and how she shares her journey through her art. And another story from a kidney transplant recipient and how she used art to help her through her dialysis experience. We will also hear from members of our Medical Advisory Board who volunteer their time for the NKF. We will also hear from our sponsors and exhibitors who so generously support this event.
Stay tuned for updates and an invitation to join us for this wonderful event!
