About this event

Please note - this event is sold out and at capacity. Any registration received after 4pm on 3/22/22 will not be accepted.

The National Kidney Foundation’s New York City Gala is Springing back with a reimagined, engaging, fun-filled spy experience that you won't want to miss! We are relaunching the highly sought-after event, after last year’s cancellation, with a new venue, guest experience and branding but with the same compassion, spirit and generosity! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join us in raising awareness and resources to help people affected by kidney disease.

The Gala is a night of celebration and support that brings together innovators in the media, medical, finance, and technology industries who recognize kidney disease as a critical public health issue. As one of the largest fundraisers for the organization, this event is crucial to making the mission possible!

The evening will recognize two incredible individuals for their career success and commitment to the kidney community and NKF’s work and mission, Peter Naylor with the Chuck Fruit Award of Excellence and Dr. Kenar Jhaveri with the Excellence in Care award. Past honorees include Ken Zuckerbrot from Greenberg Traurig LLC, Sean Moran from Viacom, and Marianne Gambelli from Disney.

Honorees

Dr. Kenar Jhaveri
Dr Kenar Jhaveri
The Excellence in Care Award honors a healthcare professional who strives to improve the everyday lives of their patients, colleagues, and the community at large. It is awarded to an individual who is passionate about their work and shares that energy and expertise with those around them in the fight against kidney disease.
Peter Naylor
Peter Naylor is the Vice President of Sales at Snap, Inc. He joined the company in 2020 to oversee Snapchat’s business in U.S., Canada and Mexico. At the Gala, Mr. Naylor will receive the Chuck Fruit Award of Excellence, which recognizes a person whose professional acumen and personal platform uniquely position them to raise the profile of kidney health and advance the fight against kidney disease.

Mission Moment

Luther D. Isler
Luther D. Isler, poetically known as The Artist Anubis, is a spoken word poet, cultural curator, and founder of The Harlem Bomb Shelter, a New York City-based literary arts platform celebrating 10 years of service in empowerment and education through self-expression and entertainment. Most importantly, Luther is the proud father of two beautiful and brilliant daughters, Lexi and Lynn. Lexi was diagnosed with a Chronic Kidney Disease, Hydronephrosis, before she was born. Despite her health challenges, Lexi has participated in competitive dance all her life and is a member of the P.U.S.H. Dance Company, which performed for the 2021 NKF New York Kidney Walk virtual kick-off. On January 16, 2019, both of their lives were changed when Luther was blessed to donate one of his kidneys to his daughter Lexi. Now Lexi, age 11, is healthier than ever and spends her free time researching culinary institutes, where she hopes to attend, and Luther uses his poetry to spread living donor awareness.
