The Honors Event and Evening of Giving is the National Kidney Foundation’s awards reception and fundraiser held annually in celebration of World Kidney Day. The benefit honors members of the local community who have been outstanding in the promotion of kidney health and the fight against kidney disease. This year the event is focused on honoring those that have made an impact in reducing health disparities. The dollars raised from this event support the National Kidney Foundation’s awareness, prevention and treatment efforts. We thank you for your support. Donate now.

Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School
 
Dr. Williams has a long, foundational track record at MGH in the development of programs to enhance the diversity of the physician workforce there and at Harvard Medical School (HMS). Over the past two decades, he has helped develop critical initiatives to support hospital-wide diversity goals. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in health policy addressing disparities in the care of end stage renal disease and organ transplantation.

Dr .Meyer has treated and educated the Greater Boston Asian community for hypertension, kidney disease and about kidney failure treatment options for more than 15 years.
 
Dr. Meyer has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ESRD Network of New England and as President of the National Forum of ESRD Networks. He is a member of the Renal and Detoxification Committee of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and of the Medical Advisory Board of the American Association of Kidney Patients.

Dr. Li-Li Hsiao is a Nephrologist and a faculty at BWH, Harvard Medical School. She is the founder of a program called Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP), which as been providing kidney health screening in the underserved communities in New England region and nationally, all free of charge. KDSAP has had major contribution in CKD prevention and health disparity since 2018.

The Community Business Leader Award is an award from the NKF Serving New England to a local business leader that has made a significant contribution to kidney patients.

CEO, Chairman and Co-Founder American Renal Associates
 
Joseph A. Carlucci is the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Co-Founder of American Renal Associates. ARA operates 248 dialysis clinics in partnership with leading nephrologists and healthcare institutions in 27 states and in the District of Columbia. Mr. Carlucci has more than 40 years of experience in the dialysis services industry. Prior to founding ARA, Mr. Carlucci served as President and CEO of Optimal Renal Care, a joint venture between Fresenius Medical Care of North America (FMCNA) and Kaiser Permanente of Southern California designed as a disease management organization providing additional opportunities to improve treatment outcomes, improve cost structures, and implement new technologies and methods of dialysis care. Prior to that, Mr. Carlucci served as Vice President of Administration at FMCNA and was responsible nationally for managed care, medical director relations and facility development. He has operations experience from Facility Administrator to Director of U.S. Operations at FMCNA. Mr. Carlucci also serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine and was a former six-year board member of St. John’s Preparatory school. Additionally, The Joseph A. Carlucci Research Fellowship (of the American Society of Nephrology Foundation) was established to further support kidney research and advancing treatment for millions of people with kidney disease. Mr. Carlucci holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Bentley University.
