New York, NY – The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) has launched a unique online educational resource for nephrology professionals.
NKF’s Professional Education Resource Center (PERC) provides accredited online CME/CEs courses to physicians, fellows and residents, pharmacists, advanced practitioners, nurses, technicians, dietitians, social workers, and transplant professionals.
This new resource center is designed for professionals committed to continuing their education and improving patient outcomes. Courses will include a range of discipline-specific, as well as multidisciplinary topics, delivered by a renowned international faculty.
"As our popular Spring Clinical Meetings have attracted more CME/CE-seeking professionals, we’ve recognized the need to expand and offer our robust medical training online to meet the demands of the growing nephrology community,” said Danielle Nathan, the National Kidney Foundation’s Professional Education Director.
PERC features curriculum that covers the full spectrum kidney disease treatment. Training is available for all skills levels, and course topics range from dialysis access to primers on dealing with substance abuse among kidney patients.
The courses available are in video format with commentary from the leading professionals in their field. Multiple choice questions are provided to test those who participate and certificates of completion are downloadable upon passing the online exam.
The PERC online center provides a customizable learning portal for reviewing all CME/CE activities and completed courses allowing for professionals to access educational offering anytime, anywhere. PERC is also free to all NKF members.
"NKF is the leader in kidney-care education, providing current, state-of-the-art scientific information on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease and its complications,” Nathan said. “We’re happy to launch PERC to provide accessible training to anyone around the world looking to improve their skills and better the care of kidney patients.”
