Laurel Williams Named Editor-in-Chief of Transplant Chronicles

New York, NY (October 21, 2003) - The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is pleased to announce that Laurel Williams, Senior Liver Transplant Coordinator at the University of Nebraska and 2003 winner of the Novartis/NATCO Lifetime Achievement Award, has been named Editor-in-Chief of Transplant Chronicles along with a newly appointed editorial board for 2004.

Transplant Chronicles is NKF's quarterly newsletter for transplant recipients with the goal of bringing timely education and support to recipients, helping them maintain and maximize their health and quality of life.

New appointments also include: Geri L. Wood, PhD, RN, FAAD; Warren Brown, MSJ; Victoria L. Shieck, RN, BSN, CCTC; Debra Tarara, RN, BSN, CCTC; Christine Wells, PhD, PT, CCS, ATC; Lara Tushla, LCSW, MSW; Ronald N. Ehrle, RN, BSN, CPTC; and Oliva Alban Kuester, MSW, CSW.

Transplant Chronicles is distributed to recipients at 667 transplant programs nationwide and mailed to 14,000 recipients' homes. Subscriptions are free and suggestions from readers are welcome.
