National Kidney Foundation Recognizes Chicago Dietitian

New York, NY (April 1, 2004) - Judith Beto, PhD, RD, FADA, of Chicago, Illinois was named the 2004 recipient of the Joel D. Kopple Award, to be presented at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) 2004 Clinical Meetings on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Beto is the Research Associate at the Loyola University Medical Center.

The Joel D. Kopple Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of renal nutrition. The award is based on achievements in the areas of legislation, clinical practice, education and research.

Dr. Beto has published more than 30 papers on renal nutrition and is the former editor of the Journal of Renal Nutrition. Dr. Beto's presentation at one clinical meeting will focus on the outcomes of research in kidney disease.

More than 2,000 kidney care professionals including physicians, nurses, technicians, social workers and dietitians plan to attend the NKF Clinical Meetings. The meeting offers educational symposia, courses and hands-on workshops highlighting the range of chronic kidney disease, from early identification and treatment throughout the progression of kidney disease and transplantation.
