National Kidney Foundation Announces Dr. Bryan Becker as President-Elect
New York, NY (November 11, 2006) - The National Kidney Foundation named Bryan N. Becker, MD, as the President-elect of NKF.
Dr. Becker is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he serves as Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, Physician-in-chief and head of the section of Nephrology. He also serves on or chairs a number of different committees on the local and national level for the American Society of Transplantation, the American Society of Nephrology, the Association of Specialty Professors, and the National Kidney Foundation.
Over the years, Dr. Becker has worked to develop research foci in chronic kidney disease and kidney transplantation with funding from the National Institutes of Health. He has published more than 175 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts and has served either as an editor or reviewer for 15 different publications in the kidney and internal medicine world.
The National Kidney Foundation is dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.
