New York, NY (October 24, 2011) — Bruce Skyer, of Trumbull, Connecticut, was named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Kidney Foundation, the Board of Directors announced today. Skyer's is the first such appointment in nearly 30 years. He succeeds John Davis who served as NKF CEO from 1982-2011.
Skyer joined the NKF in April 2010 as Chief Operating Officer and is working to ensure that the organization continues its important, nationwide initiatives that serve those at risk as well as kidney patients and professionals, while maintaining financial sustainability.

Skyer was previously Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for the Nonprofit Finance Fund, where he supported the Board of Directors, the CEO, and program management of an organization in transition, which led to the Fund’s doubling in size during his tenure. Prior to his nonprofit experience, he held a variety of corporate finance positions at Fortune 500 companies.
Skyer is a graduate of Columbia University who received an MBA from Fordham University's Graduate School of Business.
