Through a variety of educational techniques, including an audiovisual component, the students will learn what organs can be donated, and how many lives can be saved from one donor. A major emphasis will be on dispelling common myths about organ donation and COMMUNICATING with one’s family your wishes about being an organ and tissue donor.
The program is interactive, involving the students as participants and tailored to conform to an average 40-50 minute class or assembly period. The program is available to schools in our entire service area encompassing Northeast and Eastern Pennsylvania, South Central Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and New Castle County, Delaware.
Handouts prepared by the National Kidney Foundation, in partnership with the Gift of Life Donor Program, will be distributed to the students containing educational materials and organ donation statistics.
