Q. What should I wear?
A. Dress comfortably (business casual) and wear comfortable shoes.  We also recommend that you dress in layers, as temperatures in the meeting rooms can vary.

A. Once you are on site, please check with the NKF Information Booth in the registration area for information about lost and found.

Q. What is the best way to get to the Dolphin Convention Center?
A. The Austin Convention Center and hotels are located about 15 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Taxi service is approximately $40 one-way. Super Shuttle service is approximately $16 one-way. Tickets can be booked online here: https://www.supershuttle.com/locations/austinaus/.

Q. Can my friend or family member attend just the Exhibit Hall without purchasing a full conference registration?
A. Yes, you may purchase an Exhibit Hall Only pass for $50 on site, which entitles you a single day of access to the Exhibit Hall.  Please note: children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall or conference meeting rooms.

Q. Is there free Wi-Fi in the convention center?
A. Yes!

Q. Where can I find the free food?
A. Meals are provided during pre-conference courses, lunch workshops, and breakfast, lunch and dinner symposia, as well as during various exhibit hall activities. Look for the “meal served” symbol next to a session or activity in your program-at-a-glance, or check the SCM18 mobile app for additional information.

Q. Are there handouts available for the sessions?
A. NKF has made many efforts to go green.  While we do not print handouts, presentations are available through the SCM18 mobile app (based on approval from the speakers).  The SCM18 app is coming soon and will be available on mobile or to view on the dashboard of your computer. Speaker presentations will be uploaded shortly before each session begins.

Q. Can I attend any session that I want?
A. You are welcome to attend any session on any program track, however sessions not listed on your program track may not be approved through your disciplines’ accrediting agency.

Q. How do I track my credits and get my certificate?
A.  Use the barcode on your name badge to scan into each session (you’ll see the scanners as you enter the meeting room).  This is how we track your attendance. At the conclusion of the meeting, you can access your certificate by going to www.expobadge.com/certification/nkf2018.

Q. What is the Team Kidney 5K Fun Run (TK5K)?
A. The TK5K is a great way to end your week of learning at the NKF 2018 Spring Clinical Meetings. This Fun Run is a family-friendly event and will not be timed, so it’s perfect for runners of all ages and experience levels. You’ll run 3 miles along Austin's riverside Butler Hike and Bike Trail.
