The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the New York Road Runners (NYRR) are hosting the seventh annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K race on Saturday May 14th 2011 at 8:00am, in Central Park.
The race, benefiting the National Kidney Foundation, features professional runners from around the world in addition to around 10,000 entrants taking part to support the fight against kidney disease.
The UAE Healthy Kidney 10K race is held in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first President of the UAE. Sheikh Zayed was treated for kidney disease in the United States, and benefited from the expertise, knowledge and professionalism of US institutions and doctors. The race seeks to promote education about and awareness of kidney health through its support of the National Kidney Foundation.
Runners of all skill levels are invited to participate in this fun-filled and gratifying event to support the education, early detection, advocacy and research efforts of the National Kidney Foundation across the United States.
Once you register on the New York Road Runners website, you can set up your own personal fund raising page to invite your family, friends and co-workers to support you and the NKF.
