Culpepper Exum Scholarship

The NKF is proud to offer the 2024 Culpepper Exum Scholarship. This post-secondary education scholarship is an opportunity designed to help people on dialysis or kidney transplant recipients to achieve their aspirations and complete their post-secondary education goals.
The 2024 Culpepper Exum Scholarship application is now available. Check with your social worker or download an electronic application below. Applications must be postmarked or emailed by May 1, 2024.
History
Nephrology social worker, Beth Witten, established the Culpepper Exum Scholarship as a memorial to her brother who had diabetes and was on dialysis prior to his death from heart disease. This scholarship is intended to help two deserving people on dialysis or transplant recipients to attend any accredited post-secondary educational or vocational program. The award is for up to $1,000 per scholarship paid directly to the institution. Two scholarships will be awarded per school year—one to a Kansas resident and one to a Missouri resident.
Applicant Qualifications

- Must be a resident of Kansas or Missouri
- Any person on dialysis, kidney transplant recipients or anyone in Stages 2-5 are welcome to apply

- Scholarship is available for use at any trade school, continuing education program, college/university, or career advancement program
