Joseph Merighi, PhD, MSW, LISW
Associate Professor, University of Minnesota Twin Cities
Dr. Joseph Merighi is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. His research examines social work practice in health care settings, with a particular focus on the professional roles and well-being of renal social workers in dialysis clinics. In addition, he is leading a study of interprofessional collaborative practice between social workers and pharmacists to understand how these professionals can work together to improve medication management and health outcomes. Dr. Merighi currently serves as the Associate Director of the University of Minnesota School of Social Work and is a Senior Faculty Affiliate with the University of Minnesota Center for Interprofessional Health. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of Social Work and the Journal of Nephrology Social Work and is a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Social Work Education. Dr. Merighi received his MSW and PhD in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Merighi’s research focuses on the roles and well-being of renal social workers and how interprofessional collaboration can improve medication management and health outcomes.
