Continuing Education FAQs
Where can I log in? What's the process for accessing the SCM portal?
Each year of the SCM event has its own dedicated attendee portal and mobile app.
To access the SCM24 portal, simply follow the link provided: https://cme.kidney.org/spa/courses/resource/2024-spring-clinical-meetings/event/home
We recommend using Google Chrome or Firefox when visiting the SCM portal.
If you prefer using your mobile device, you can download the SCM24 mobile app from either the App Store or Google Play. Search for "NKF Meetings" in the app store to find and install the SCM24 mobile app. Once you're in the app, you'll be able to:
Please note, you must log in to the SCM online portal (via the mobile app or website) for full access, including creating your individualized itinerary and completing evaluations.
How can I tell if a session is accredited to my discipline?
When viewing the program list, sessions available for CME/CE are tagged with a green designation and a "CME/CE" label on the conference program. See example:
By selecting a session title, you may view the amount of credits/contact hours available. See example:
Can I attend any session that I want?
You are welcome to attend any session on any program track, however sessions that are not listed on your program track are not approved for credit through your discipline's accrediting agency.
How do I claim CE/CME credit and download certificates for SCM sessions?
Successful completion of a session is verified by completing the session evaluation, pretest, and/or posttest. Although every session requires a completed evaluation to receive credit, a pretest and/or posttest may also be required by the accrediting body.
Please note, June 27th is the last day to complete all pretests, posttests, and evaluations, and to claim credit in the SCM24 app or website.
Once you’ve completed your session tests and evaluations, navigate to the “Certificates” tab to claim your credits.
By selecting each "Claim Credits" button, a total number of your earned credits will be generated for each accrediting body. See example:
After the page refreshes, you should see your credit totals and two button options. Attendees may either download their credit certificate(s) or change/update the credit total. See example:
Please note, attendees must manually select the “Claim Credits” button to officially claim their CE/CME credit.
Certificates will be available after the conclusion of the conference (on May 18) through the 2024 conference portal and the SCM24 mobile app.
How do I complete my evaluations, pretests, and posttests?
Evaluations, pretests, and posttests can be completed on the 2024 conference portal OR the SCM24 mobile app.
Tests and evaluations become available when a session is live and are completed by clicking each “Pretest” “Posttest” and “Evaluation” button (as shown in the screenshot below). Attendees will be required to complete tests and evaluations for sessions that they have attended and would like to earn credit for. If you see a pretest or posttest button listed under a session, you must complete it before claiming credit. June 27th is the last day to complete all pretests, posttests, and evaluations, and to claim credit in the SCM24 app or website.
For easy access to session evaluations and tests during and after the meeting, select the heart icon to “favorite” a session and add it to your itinerary. See example:
What is the last day to claim credit for SCM24 sessions?
June 27th is the last day to complete all pretests, posttests, and evaluations, and to claim credit in the SCM24 app or website.
Why am I required to complete a pre and post-test?
Due to the challenge of selectively administering the pre/post-test to learners based on their specific discipline, all participants attending sessions that incorporate a pre-post-test are requested to complete both assessments.
How do I track my credits?
You may track your attendance and credits by logging into the 2024 conference portal or SCM24 mobile app and selecting the “Credits” tab.
From the Credits tab, we suggest using the filter dropdown to review your completed, favorited, and incomplete sessions.
✅ Sessions that are “Complete” will show green checkmarks for each post-session item and can be claimed for credit.
❌ Sessions that are “Incomplete” are missing a green checkmark pretest, posttest, or evaluation and cannot be claimed for credit until those items are fulfilled.
Will the CE credit be considered Live CE for Pharmacists?
Yes, the in-person and on-demand formats are accredited for live credit. We recommend you monitor your CPE after you’ve completed your SCM sessions to confirm the credit type. If you have any questions related to Live CE for Pharmacists, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are missing credit in your CPE monitor, please contact us by June 26, 2024 to ensure we can correct any discrepancies necessary.
I completed my evaluations, pretests, and posttests – why isn’t my Credits Claimed total being updated?
To update your Credits Claimed total, simply select the “Change” button within the necessary certificate section. Doing so will trigger the page to refresh and your Credits Claimed total to be updated. See example:
