Director, Research and Education, Patient Care America

Maiya Slusser-Hogan, MS, RD, CNSC, has spent her career making complicated science make sense to the people who need it most. As Director of Research and Education at Patient Care America, she built and leads a continuing education program of 20+ courses reaching dietitians and nurses nationwide, and brings the same approach to original research, serving as lead author on a peer-reviewed study published in Kidney360 and presenting her work at ASN Kidney Week and NKF's Spring Clinical Meetings.

Before moving into renal nutrition education, Maiya built a clinical foundation working directly with patients navigating renal transplant, pediatric and long-term acute care, and traumatic spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation, followed by a role in telehealth coaching, where she focused on turning personal health data into real, lasting behavior change.

Maiya earned her Master's in Health and Human Performance in 2010 and became a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician in 2014. She's a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and helping people understand and act on their health is the work she cares about most.
