Outstanding Technician Award

Jesse Bitoy, CCHT

Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician, University of Michigan Hospital

Jesse Bitoy began his dialysis career in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with Fresenius Medical Care in 2004, entering the field with no prior medical experience. After completing a five-week challenging training program, he developed a passion for dialysis care and discovered a natural talent for vascular access cannulation.

Over the past 20+ years, Jesse has built extensive experience caring for patients with complex dialysis access needs, always focused on providing safe, effective treatments while minimizing discomfort. In 2019, he joined Heritage Dialysis, serving nursing home patients, and later transitioned to the University of Michigan Health in 2022, where he expanded his knowledge of nephrology and participated in a variety of vascular access procedures.

His greatest reward is helping patients improve their quality of life through treatment, adherence, education, and support. Jesse also serves as a preceptor, mentoring new dialysis technicians and helping them develop into skilled, confident healthcare professionals.

After more than two decades in dialysis, Jesse remains dedicated to patient care, professional growth, and serving the kidney community.
