Dialysis Consultant
Danilo Concepcion began his dialysis profession on May 16, 1975. He retired after over 50 years on July 18, 2025. Prior to his entering the dialysis field, he was a corpsman in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He is experienced in the clinical, technological, research and administrative areas of dialysis. He is a member of numerous executive committee and project committees for numerous dialysis related organizations, and is a prolific national and international speaker and writer and has been published in numerous professional journals; a member of the Renal and Disease Detoxification Committee since 2000 for AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation). He is also a member of the American Society of Nephrology/Centers for Disease and Prevention “Nephrologist Transforming Dialysis Safety Project Committee;” and Dialysis Safety Workgroup for CDC Making Dialysis Safer Coalition. He is also on the Editorial Advisory Board for Nephrology News and Issues and currently on the ESRD Network 18 Medical Review Board. He was honored in 2025 by the Renal Healthcare Association resolution and awarded RHA’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award. They have also honored him with creating the “Danilo Concepcion Dialysis Technician Scholarship” that will support technicians’ attendance to the RHA annual conference.
