Award for Social Work in a Transplant Setting

Christina Delvalle, MSSA, LISW, CCTSW

Cleveland Clinic Transplant Center

For the past five years, Chrissie has worked as a Kidney Transplant Social Worker for the Cleveland Clinic Transplant Center. Prior to joining the transplant team, Chrissie worked on the renal floor at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital. Gaining connection to the National Kidney Foundation in 2019 Chrissie has proudly served on multiple NKF committees (Big Ask Big Give, Patient Symposium, etc) and three years ago was excited to join the NKF Medical Advisory Board.  She is a Certified Clinical Transplant Social Worker and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Chrissie has a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve in social work and an undergrad degree in psychology from Ithaca College. Growing up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio so close to the hospitals, Chrissie developed a strong understanding that a person’s physical health and mental health are much intertwined. She is honored to work at Cleveland Clinic on a multidisciplinary kidney team with members who also understand this and who work together to best serve each patient. Through her work, Chrissie found that she is passionate about truly understanding a person in order to better connect to them and support them through their unique kidney disease journey.
