Mr. Forest Rawls Jr. CCHT-A, FNKF has been in the field of dialysis since 1975, where he first trained as a transplantation Technician in The US Navy. Over the years he has excelled in the field Nephrology to include assisting in the OR with kidney tra􀀏splants, transporting kidneys for transplantation, tissue banking, plasmapheresis and dialysis. Since his retirement from the Navy he has honed his skills and shared his knowledge and expertise with multi-disciplinary teams. Additionally he has been instrumental in helping to improve vascular access outcomes for patients with kidney disease, He has been a pioneer in the use of Ultrasound to guide cannulation of access, and has co-authored publications on Hemodialysis vascular access. His model service and leadership to the nephrology community has been evidenced by the many positions he has held to include National association of Nephrology technicians and Technologists (NANT) President, BOD Southeast Kidney Council, Nephrology nursing certification commission (NNCC) Clinical/Technical board member /item writer Vascular access Society of America (VASA)) Allied health member American Society of Diagnostic lnterventional Nephrologists (ASDIN) Allied health member, Councilor, Chairman Executive committee Council of Nephrology Nurses and Technicians. (CNNT) He has been recognized and is the recipient of the SEKC Quality improvement award, NNCC quality improvement award and the ASDIN associate of the year.
