UNC Division of Nephrology and Hypertension

The University of North Carolina (UNC) Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with kidney disease across North Carolina and beyond. Our nephrologists, advanced practice providers (APPs), and fellows deliver expert, patient-centered care to more than 42,000 individuals each year through inpatient consultative services, outpatient clinics, and a comprehensive dialysis program.

With more than $18 million in annual research funding and over 20 nationally and internationally recognized basic and clinical investigators, the Division advances kidney health through excellence in both research and clinical care. APPs are integral members of our multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical care, patient education, and care coordination across our chronic kidney disease and dialysis programs.

Dr. Jennifer (Jenny) Flythe, Professor of Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine and Chief of the UNC Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, and Trina Pugh, Division Administrator and administrative leader for the Division's APPs, gratefully accept the National Kidney Foundation Council of Advanced Practice Providers (CAPP) Nostradamus Award on behalf of the Division.
