Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Social Worker at Rush University Transplant Program


Jeff Harder received his Masters of Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1986.  After working for a number of years in community mental health, he was hired in 1992 as the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Social Worker at the University of Washington Medical Center.  Over the years he has held a number of positions in both his local CNSW chapter as well as the national CNSW, including Continuing Education Chair, Chair Elect and Chair, as well as past Chair, and most recently as Publications.  He has presented numerous times at both local and national CNSW conferences on topics such as transplant social workers collaborating with dialysis social workers, Health Literacy, Helping patients navigate the transplant process, and quality of life post-transplant.  He officially retired from his full-time position in June of 2024 and has since then worked as a per diem social worker covering for vacationing transplant social workers from all organ groups.
