RenaLink Professional Council Newsletter - Summer 2015

September 2015

The role of mentoring in healthcare and your professional life is rarely discussed, and yet is so critical. Similar to hunting for mushrooms, you only know how to look for the things your guide has shown you.

Mentoring is a vital process in nursing; it is a means for experienced nurses to orient and to facilitate acclimation of novice nurses to their new role.

“Hey Steph. You got a minute?” After the first few sentences from my caller, I realize that there is nothing more important than being on the other end of the phone with this person.

The 2015-16 Chairs discuss mentoring, and professional development.
