Jaime Herrera Beutler is a former U.S. Congresswoman and Washington state legislator with 15 years’ experience building and leading bipartisan coalitions that delivered key legislative victories for maternal healthcare, environmental protection, energy, timber, medical care for children, and regional and national businesses. Jaime is known for investigating problems and crafting bipartisan solutions leading to her ranking as Washington state’s most effective federal legislator and Time Magazine’s “40 Under 40.”


Jaime served as the U.S. Representative for Southwest Washington’s 3rd district, where she was a nine-year member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, a ranking member of the subcommittee Legislative Branch, a member of the Joint Economic Committee, and a leading voice in health, energy, and financial services subcommittees. Throughout her career, Jaime championed legislation of nationwide importance while always making good-paying jobs and economic opportunities for Southwest Washington residents her top priority. In 2015, one of Jaime’s signature achievements was co-founding the bipartisan Maternity Care Caucus, which led to key legislative victories impacting the lives of women, children, and families across the country.


A pursued spokesperson, Jaime has been featured by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Atlantic, Marie Claire, and other major media outlets. Jaime has received numerous awards including the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship (U.S. Chamber of Commerce), Hero of Mainstreet (National Retail Federation), Gift-of-Life Legislator of the Year (American Society of Transplantation), and Legislator of the Year (Pacific Northwest Waterways Association). She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Washington and currently resides in Clark County, Washington with her husband Daniel and their three children.
