Krista Lentine, MD, PhD | Saint Louis University

Krista is Professor of Medicine with tenure | Associate Division Director of Nephrology, Medical Director of Living Donation, and Mid-America Transplant/Jane A. Beckman Endowed Chair in Transplantation at SSM-Saint Louis University.

Krista actively engages in transplant-related service, including as past Chair of the OPTN/UNOS Living Donor Committee, current chair of the AST Living Donor Community of Practice, co-chair of the a ‘Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) Living Donor Guideline, Senior Staff of the SRTR, and medical/scientific director of the Living Donor Collective.

In addition to serving as a member of the NKF Transplant Advisory Committee, she is a member of the ASN Policy and Advocacy Committee, member of the NLDAC Advisory Group, and serves on multiple AST, AHA, ASN, NKF and KDIGO work groups related to transplant patient and living donor care.

She publishes actively on topics related to organ donation, outcomes and health economics, and recently published a book on living donor care.

Recognitions of Krista’s work include the AST Established Investigator Award, and 4 awards from the NKF (2 local Awards of Excellence / 2 national: Excellence in Transplantation and Shaul G Massry). In April 2023, Krista will be the 6th SLU faculty member in 50 years inducted into the American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI).
