Every year, when Thanksgiving draws closer, people begin to think of all the things they are grateful for. Here at Kidney Cars we want to tell those who have made a Kidney Car Donation "thank you" for your generosity. You are among the many Americans who have made a point to donate time, vehicles, supplies, and money to charitable organizations.
Donations at an All-Time High
According to a report published by Giving USA in 2014, charitable donations hit an all-time high in 2014 at $358.38 Billion. That’s over 3 and a half BILLION dollars donated by Americans to help their neighbors, friends, and people they’ve never even met before. Over $250 billion of those dollars came from individual donors like you. Your generosity is making a difference in the lives of millions of people around the country and around the world.
We want you to know how grateful we are for you.
Who is Donating?
According to Giving USA there are 4 major donors in the United States.
- Individual donors- donated over $250 billion in 2014
- Foundations- donated over $53 billion in 2014
- Bequest donations- over $28 billion in 2014
- Corporate donors- over $17 billion in 2014
That means you, the individual donor, accounted for over 2/3 of all charitable giving in America. That’s a significant and exciting number. Those numbers show that every little bit counts. From the widow’s mite to the millionaire’s gift, the dollars add up and they are improving the quality of life and health of those who benefit from that generosity. In fact, those individual gifts made the single greatest difference in the overall numbers in donations to charity.
Who is Benefiting?
Giving USA claims that there are six major areas of donation who receive the money from charitable donations: religious charities, education, human services, health, humanities, environment, public benefit, foundations, and international affairs.
These organizations, though differing in focus and approach, all seek the same goal: to improve the quality of human life around the globe. The money you donate is being used to build homes for the homeless, feed the hungry, ensure clean water for rural communities, improve educational opportunities in inner-city school districts, guarantee financial help for the children fallen heroes, and continuing health research.
Here at Kidney Cars, your vehicle donations go to support the National Kidney Foundation, where the funds are used to increase awareness, research, prevent and treat kidney disease. We couldn’t do this vital work without you.
So, from our heart to yours we say: Thank you. During this coming month of celebration and thanksgiving, we will be remembering our gratitude for you.
