Shaul G. Massry, MD, was a trailblazer and leader in nephrology and at NKF. Dr. Massry served at tNKF Southern California Affiliate and National level as VP and Chair of the National Advisory Committee, increasing NKF’s research, leading to $200+ million investment. A strong organ donation advocate, he even obtained support from Pope John Paul II. As NKF President and Annual Meeting Chair, he expanded professional membership and education. He also led development of the first KDOQI bone guidelines. He was a true visionary and pioneer.
