Celeste Castillo Lee, an advocate for patient-centered care, lived with kidney disease for nearly 35 years, bringing experience, vision, and determination to everything she did, leading by example and inspiring others. As longtime Chair of NKF’s Patient and Family Council, she championed initiatives that improved patient care. Her contributions are recognized through NKF’s Celeste Castillo Lee Patient Engagement Award, the highest honor for kidney patients who embody her legacy. Celeste transformed patient and family involvement in healthcare. Her legacy continues to inspire us all.
