Transplant Advisory Committee Member
Luis Mayen is Senior Vice President at Donor Network West, where he provides executive leadership for organ procurement systems, operational strategy, and regulatory compliance across one of the nation's largest organ procurement organizations, serving a region spanning more than 100,000 square miles. Over more than two decades in organ donation and transplantation, he has held progressively senior roles at Donor Network West, advancing organ utilization, preservation technology adoption, and collaboration with transplant centers across the western United States.
Luis serves as the Region 5 Representative on the OPTN/HRSA OPO Committee and sits on the OPTN/HRSA AOOS Workgroup's Compliance Team. He is a Board Member of the Association of Minority Affairs in Transplantation and has served on the National Kidney Foundation's Advisory Board since 2021. He also serves as a PEERS Living Donor Mentor in Spanish, drawing on his own experience as a non-directed living kidney donor to support and guide others considering living donation.
Luis holds degrees in Human Biology and Education from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed the Art & Science of Leadership Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
