Medically reviewed by: NKF Education Team

Advances in genomics have vastly increased our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of human diseases, including kidney diseases. Recognizing advances in genomics and genetic testing, an NKF Work Group of experts convened and generated decision-making algorithms and key other recommendations. This tool provides support to healthcare professionals to facilitate an understanding of the role of genetic testing for diagnosis of inherited kidney diseases.

The Genetic Testing and Kidney Disease Clinical Support Tool features decision making algorithms in testing for people who are at-risk or symptomatic. Digital and printable formats are included. Key findings and recommendations of the NKF Work Group are also included.
