Simple Safe Driving Tips

September 24, 2018, 1:02pm EDT

Road trips and car travels can be fun and exciting, yet driving on the road can also be dangerous. This is especially true for younger less experienced drivers. Driving doesn’t have to be filled with fear of possible hazards.

Here are some simple suggestions to remember for everyone to enjoy a safe trip. We encourage every driver be a safe traveler with these straightforward safety tips.

DO:

Sing along to your music. Car concerts are fun for you and your car mates.

DON’T:

Curse out other drivers. People can read lips. Really. Stick to your car concert.

DO:

Wave to your driving neighbors. You’re all in this together after all.

DON’T:

Flash unfriendly gestures. That’s a bad plan that can lead to big trouble.

DO:

Keep your energy up with a beverage and handheld snack. Remember, safety first.

DON’T:

Choose ridiculous edible items such as SOUP! Not a good idea, we promise!

DO:

Wait for a nice gap between cars before pulling out into traffic. It’s just good manners. And it’s safer.

DON’T:

Pull out directly in front of another moving vehicle forcing that driver to stand on the brake in order to avoid hitting your impatient self.

DO:

Attend to any absolutely necessary grooming only when your car is stationary. You know, NOT moving.

DON’T:

Sink your fingers in knuckle-deep in that nose of yours. We can see you and really wish we couldn’t.

DO:

Use your mobile device GPS to navigate while both hands are on the wheel.

DON’T:

Hold your phone, read or respond to texts, or look at your phone while driving. Nothing on your phone is worth risking your lives so just don’t do it while you are driving.

As a young driver begins to roam the roads, these are friendly reminders for them to keep in mind. Share this post with your driving friends and teenage family members for a quick reminder of safe driving.
