Could you please discuss how hypotension and hypoglycemia relate to kidney function (or dysfunction)?

Low blood pressure (hypotension) leads to decreased filtered blood by the kidney and this will result in a failure of clearance of substances by the kidney.  If this continues for some time, acute kidney injury can occur.  Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) does not have any direct effect on the kidney.  There should not be any changes to the kidney with hypoglycemia.  In fact, the kidney is capable of making sugar itself and can protect against hypoglycemia by a process known as "gluconeogenesis".
