My blood creatinine of 1.60 mg/dL, age 72, male, diabetic with HbA1c of 5.5%. Does this indicate CKD and if so, what stage and what should I do? I live in Indonesia but am American.

I suggest that you go to our web site and use your vital information to calculate your estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). You can do so at: http://www.kidney.org/professionals/kdoqi/gfr_calculator.cfm Once you get your eGFR, there are links at the web site to describe the Stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and potential treatments. I cannot recommend a treatment without seeing your and performing a complete history and physical examination. You also need urine testing for protein to see if your diabetes is causing damage to your kidney filters by making them spill protein into the urine.
I recommend that you discuss these findings with your physician with your next visit and determine any further treatment needed.
