General Car Maintenance Schedule

Many of us rely daily on our cars to get us where we need to go. When our car breaks down, it can throw off our whole day and often our week or month. Schedules have to be adjusted while the car goes into the repair shop. Another vehicle must be rented or borrowed for a while so we can continue getting where we need to go.

Keeping your vehicle maintained can prevent small issues from developing into larger more expensive repairs.

In helping make sure that we are giving our cars the TLC they deserve, here is a general maintenance schedule to help with the wear and tear that vehicles go through, and hopefully avoid expensive breakdowns.

Every 3,000 to 7,000 Miles:

Every 15,000 to 30,000 Miles:

Change / Service:

Air Filter & Cabin Air Filter
Flush Transmission Fluid 1x/Year
Brake Fluid
Power Steering Fluid

Inspect:

Battery
Wipe Off
Coolant
Radiator Hose
HVAC
Brake Pads

Every 35,000 to 50,000 Miles:

Change / Service:

Oil & Oil Filter
Wiper Blades When Streaky
Wheel Alignment
Tire Rotation & Balancing
Car wash

Inspect:

Transmission Fluid Level
Coolant
Power Steering Fluid
Windshield Washer Fluid
Tires for Wear, Tear and Pressure
Lights

Every 60,000 Miles:

Change / Service:

Timing Belt
Coolant
Brake Pads
Power Steering Fluid
Radiator Hoses
Brake Fluid

Inspect:

HVAC
Suspension
Tires

Any suspected problems should get fixed right away after 60k miles.
