NKF Local Chapter Program
NKF has professional councils that represent the interests of certain subgroups within the general membership.
- The Council on Renal Nutrition (CRN) represents dietitian members.
- The Council of Nephrology Social Workers (CNSW) represents the social worker members.
- The Council of Nephrology Nurses and Technicians (CNNT) represents the nurse and technician members.
These three Councils (CRN, CNSW, and CNNT) have local chapters, managed by volunteer leaders, that help carry out the mission of NKF. These local chapters provide education to professionals and patients in their communities.
Local chapters complete an affiliation application with the National Kidney Foundation when they are chartered, and then submit a renewal every two years.
National membership vs local chapter membership
Many local chapters collect membership dues separate from national NKF membership. These dues are not counted toward membership to the national Council or NKF.
To be sure you are a member of NKF, and are represented by your national Council, you must complete a membership application.
