How to Start a New Local Chapter
It is super easy!
- Confirm a local chapter does not already exist in your area.
- Form a small group of professionals (aim for 10) willing to meet at least twice a year.
- Find someone to serve as Chair.
- Review CNSW or CRN bylaws.
- Apply to be affiliated to the National Kidney Foundation.
Standards for Local Chapters
Affiliated local chapters agree to adhere to the following standards:
- Meet no less than two (2) times per year (example: conference calls, networking events, CEU events, etc.)
- Work with NKF to manage all local chapter financial activity and NOT hold any funds in a personal bank account.
- Work directly with the National NKF CE office, and abide by NKF’s CE policies in the planning and implementation of any CE-accredited programs.
- Work with NKF to enter into any contracts with vendors or sponsors.
- Adhere to NKF’s use of logos and branding policies.
- Collaborate with NKF local office(s) to develop, promote, and execute local patient and professional programming.
- Promote national NKF Professional Membership and actively seek recruitment opportunities.
- Adhere to policies set forth by the CNSW and CRN Executive Councils.
- Positively represent the National Kidney Foundation at all times, in all spaces.
