Kidney Walk

Connecticut Kidney Walk

Join us on October 2 for the 2022 Connecticut Kidney Walk! There are many ways to get involved to support those living with kidney disease: register, fundraise, sponsor or volunteer! Your involvement lets others know they’re not alone and funds lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families and those at risk. Together, we’ll come together with a common purpose and walk for those who can’t. Caring knows no distance; one simple step can change a life.

Latest News

Your Connecticut Advocates and other Kidney Volunteers are working tirelessly new legislation to help Living Donors. A study in 2015, showed that approximately 25% of Kidney Donors experienced some form of discrimination when they sought to obtain or modify life or health insurance. The Living Donor Protection Act for Connecticut would protect the Living Donor from these adverse actions. By removing this barrier to donation, the supply of kidneys will increase and reduce the wait time for those waiting on the Transplant list. It's easy to make a difference! Become an advocate and learn how to get involved with legislation relating to kidney disease, transplantation and organ donation.

Eating Right

For people with chronic kidney disease at any stage, understanding how nutrition can affect their health is critical. Kidney health care professionals can help by providing important support and education about dietary requirements and modifications that could potentially slow the progression of kidney disease and improve overall health outcomes.
