NKF Serving New England

Ask Your Employer About Participating in a Drive For Dialysis Event!

Does your company have a volunteer day? Ask them to consider a Drive for Dialysis Event! These are great volunteer events hosted at corporate locations for staff to learn about kidney disease and put together bags of items for dialysis patients. The volunteers are provided with materials that are helpful to local dialysis patients to be pulled together in a tote bag and they add a personal message for the bag recipient. NKF then delivers these bags to a local dialysis center. Staff learn about kidney health, hear from a patient speaker, and create care packages that are very meaningful for local patients.

Hosting a Drive for Dialysis event is easy! Ask your company if they would have a volunteer event for staff with our out-of-the-box program. We'll work with the company to design a volunteer opportunity that meets your company's unique needs! For more information please contact Desirae Vasquez at Desirae.Vasquez@kidney.org .

NKF NEW ENGLAND KIDNEY COMMUNITY

Prevention and Awareness Building Programming: Community-Based Kidney Education

The NKFNE frequently runs New England-based public health education programs within the local neighborhoods we serve. By installing NKFNE booths at local community events and in partnership with local community organizations, we are reaching our neighbors, right where they are, as a means of supporting public and patient awareness about kidney health, disease prevention, and screening practices.

Print copies of NKF health education materials are available to all members of the public who visit the NKF booth at our community events. Materials will include important resources for the local patients and the public such as kidney-friendly recipes, kidney disease risk factor inventories, and other valuable information. NKF staff and volunteers will converse with the public about relevant topics such as transplant, dialysis, living donation, and issues related to kidney disease, providing further direction about how to stay connected with NKF and access online resources.

NKFNE is actively seeking 2026 sponsors for our community programming
